First in the series is the 2005 Top Fuel IHBA World Championship boat “Speed Sports Special”. This life-like diecast model's features include a highly detailed top fuel motor including plug wires, mags, belt and pulleys, fuel cell, fuel system, blower restraint. Boat details include twin drive system and shafts, rotating twin props, rudder, parachutes, hull hatches for batteries and computer. Removable capsule detail includes a lid that opens to the cockpit with driver seat, driver restraint, gauges, air system, roll cage, functional steering and more. You will not find a more accurately detailed model on the market. The boats are about 13 inches long and 5 inches wide and come with an individual stand to proudly display your favorite top fuel boat. See the awesome detail for yourself as you compare the first model and the real Top Fuel Hydro at the Nitro Nationals in Red Bluff, California May 27-28. The first to be released is the “Speed Sports” Top Fuel Hydro Diecast Model. Be sure to see it on display at the T-shirt booth in the Speed Sports pit. “Speed Sports” was driven to its 2005 IHBA championship by John Haas. The second diecast model to be released in August will be Eddie Knox’s World ET Record holder “Problem Child” driven by Dale Ishimaru.
The attention to detail is a result of years of research and study by Stan Gill of Bad Ass Diecast. Gill and Duane Sims of DragBoatRacing.com have met with manufacturers and race team owners to help make this project materialize. With hull information from Wolf McClendon, twin drive specs from Jim Faulkerson and Kevin Falkins at Canyon Boats helping with the roll cage and capsule detail, Chris Kemp (BAD design engineer) BAD Diecast was able to replicate these top fuel hydros with amazing detail.
